About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Electrical Test Technician to join a forward-thinking energy solutions team in Chattanooga, TN. In this role, you’ll support the initial power-up and testing of modular electrical units, verifying functionality and ensuring everything is operating as intended before programming is installed. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong electrical and troubleshooting experience who is also looking to grow into a leadership role over time.
You’ll work inside a temperature-controlled test environment, powering up brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment and methodically checking for issues or defects. While you’ll have support from the local team, the role requires a strong sense of independence, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
Schedule
Typical workweek: 45 hours, Monday–Friday (7 AM–5 PM), with potential OT on evenings/weekends if needed
Flexible shift times may be arranged depending on client requirements
Responsibilities
Power up equipment for the first time and confirm voltage levels prior to program installation
Follow pre-established test protocols and checklists step by step
Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC diagrams, and HMI layouts
Use meters to check resistance, continuity, and voltage
Troubleshoot issues in real-time and collaborate directly with clients to resolve them
Work on one unit at a time, with about 2 weeks allocated per test cycle
Qualifications
Strong background in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing
Ability to interpret electrical documentation (schematics, PLCs, HMIs)
Familiarity with automation systems and some logic editing experience preferred
Prior experience working with meters, voltage checks, and resistance tests
Comfortable working independently and communicating with clients when issues arise
