This Position reports to:

Senior Engineering Manager

 

As an electrical engineering intern, you will assist the test and design engineer of machine-human interfaces for mine hoist systems. You will be part of ABB Canada's Process Automation, Process Industries division and will be based in our Saint-Laurent office. The work model is in person.

Your responsabilities

  • Testing of winch control and supervision systems
  • Testing of SIL 3 brake control systems for winches
  • Development of operator interface for hoisting systems (ABB mine hoists)
  • Installation of software for operator interfaces and system maintenance computers
  • Helped develop and maintain winch control and supervision systems
  • Writing and updating technical documentation and operating manuals

Qualifications

  • Student in electrical engineering or automated production engineering
  • General programming skills
  • PLC (programmable logic controller) experience an asset
  • Good communication skills, able to reach out to others to ask questions
  • Proactivity on the job
