Amazon is looking for an Electrical Engineer to work on subsystem design, implementation and release to manufacturing of a robotic End Effector. The ideal candidate will have experience in analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, possess good communication skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting.
Key job responsibilities - Design and implement embedded system, analog and digital circuit design for reading sensors, controlling motors and interfacing with system power and communications - Author functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures - Build and test first articles of electrical designs - Build and test first articles of integrated subsystems - Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments - Execute tasks to fast schedules Support development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508) - Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field - Experience debugging and systems analysis to identify and quickly resolve or mitigate issues - 5+ years of experience in electrical, firmware and system-level design - Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures - Proficient in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro tool flow is a plus) - Experience designing printed circuit boards with analog and digital electronics including FPGAs, microcontrollers or microprocessors - Experience with mixed signal designs and serial communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, USB, etc.) - Experience with PSPICE or similar analog circuit simulation tools - Familiar with PCB layout design and best practices, including troubleshooting EMI/EMC issues - Experience participating in design reviews with interdisciplinary teams - Ability to work across multiple levels of abstraction – from system architecture to implementation details - Commitment to rigorous testing practices and design process flows Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent - Experience with the project management of technical projects - Experience understanding business and customer needs and translating them into effective solutions - Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills - Strong organizational and planning skills with experience identifying and resolving complex issues - Experience applying IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards - Experience designing, developing and certifying safety-rated hardware systems - Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
