About Us:*

VI is committed to providing its customers high quality products and creating a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Position Summary:*
We are seeking a motivated, hands-on Electrical & Electronics Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys understanding how things work, solving problems, working with electronics, and taking on hands-on projects
The successful candidate will assist with the electrical and electronic aspects of thin film deposition systems and components we design and manufacture. This may include troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems, wiring and assembly, testing equipment, assisting with automation and controls, and providing general technical and IT support throughout the company.
We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, thinks logically, and enjoys figuring out problems rather than simply following a checklist. Formal experience is valuable, but aptitude, curiosity, mechanical/electrical interest, and a willingness to learn are equally important.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to expand their technical knowledge and develop a long-term career while contributing to the growth and capabilities of the company.
Key Responsibilities:*
Assist with electrical and electronic assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting systems and components.
Troubleshoot electrical and electronic problems using logical, systematic problem-solving techniques.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Test electrical and electronic components and systems to identify faults and determine appropriate solutions.
Assist with installation, setup, testing, and commissioning of equipment.
Support automation, controls, sensors, and other electronic systems used in company equipment.
Assist with equipment modifications, upgrades, and improvements.
Help troubleshoot computers, networks, software, and other IT-related issues as needed.
Work with engineers and other team members to identify and resolve technical problems.
Document troubleshooting steps, repairs, modifications, and test results.
Assist with building and testing prototype equipment and components.
Maintain an organized and safe work area and follow company safety procedures.
Continue developing knowledge of electrical systems, electronics, automation, controls, IT, and company-specific equipment.
Take on additional technical projects and responsibilities as skills and knowledge develop.
What We're Looking For:
Enjoys working with their hands and figuring out how things work.
Has strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Is naturally curious and asks questions.
Can think critically and approach problems logically.
Is comfortable diagnosing a problem when the answer isn't immediately obvious.
Has an interest in electronics, electrical systems, automation, computers, or technology.
Enjoys hands-on projects such as repairing, building, modifying, or automating things at home.
Can learn new technology and technical concepts independently.
Is willing to expand their knowledge and skills to benefit both themselves and the company.
Works well independently but knows when to ask for assistance.
Is detail-oriented and takes pride in doing quality work.
Has good communication and documentation skills.
Is dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Desired Knowledge or Experience:*
The ideal candidate may have experience or education in one or more of the following areas:

Qualifications*
Required:*
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong interest in electrical, electronics, technology, or technical systems.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Ability to learn new concepts and technical systems.

We value employees who are interested in learning and growing. The right person will have opportunities to develop skills in areas that are valuable to both the employee and the company.
*Work Environment
*This position involves a combination of hands-on work in a manufacturing environment, equipment assembly and testing, troubleshooting, and computer-based technical work.
Ideal Candidate*
