Electrical & Controls Technician / Specialist
Key Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a high-speed bakery and packaging environment
- Program, modify, load, communicate, and troubleshoot PLC and controller software across multiple generations and platforms
- Configure, program, and maintain HMIs and VFDs, including Allen-Bradley drives
- Support instrumentation and controls systems, including I/O, sensors, and field devices
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to diagnose equipment issues and implement effective corrective actions
- Design, implement, and document control system improvements and equipment modifications
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts with a focus on safety, reliability, efficiency, and uptime
- Provide flexible support for off-hour troubleshooting or emergency calls as required
- Assist with commissioning, testing, and startup of new or modified equipment
- Maintain accurate documentation, backups, and version control of programs and system changes
Requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an electrical and controls professional in an industrial maintenance setting
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial control networks
- Demonstrated experience with Allen-Bradley control platforms and drives
- Ability to work with multiple types and generations of controllers and equipment
- Experience in high-speed manufacturing, food production, bakery, or packaging environments preferred
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
- Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and provide off-hours support when needed
