Job DetailsJob Location: Longmont, CO 80504Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $38.00 - $43.00 HourlyBoulder Scientific Company (BSC) is seeking an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician III to join its Maintenance team. The Technician’s primary responsibility is to perform the overall maintenance of Electrical and Instrumentation systems at the Mead and Specialty Place facilities. Job Responsibilities Maintains all electrical equipment downstream of power distribution panels on both plant sites. Assists with new equipment installations Assists Journeyman with conduit and wire pulling runs. Able to read and understand P&IDs, schematics, blueprints, specifications, electrical 1-lines, control and power diagrams. Reads, comprehends and applies information from technical manuals for troubleshooting and installation. Low voltage and instrumentation wiring installations for small projects, Troubleshooting and maintenance of low voltage controls. Monitoring the quality of Electrical Contractors installing instrumentation and controls. Ensuring the work being performed is according to BSC standards. Reads, comprehends and suggests edits to PLC programs after review with engineering. PLC program troubleshooting. VFD setup and troubleshooting. Process instrumentation setup & troubleshooting. (pressure, temperature, flow, conductivity, O2) Performs other general maintenance as required. (process inspections, belt changes, oil changes) Completes all training necessary to perform the responsibilities of the position and attain required certifications Rotational on-call (month and a half) QualificationsQualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 3 years of controls and instrumentation experience with PLC’s, HMI’s, VFD’s. flow, temperature and pressure sensors and transducers. Experience 3-5 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment Demonstrated basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) Must pass a job-related pre-employment physical exam and drug test. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, low voltage electrical work, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will be working in laboratories, manufacturing areas, and storage facilities that require the use of PPE.
