Director, Engineering - Robotics & Automation
Shape the Next Generation of Pharmacy Robotics
Omnicell is seeking a senior technical leader to define and deliver the future of our Robotics & Automation portfolio. This is a Chief Engineer-style role responsible for driving innovation across next-generation pharmacy automation platforms, transforming ideas into scalable products that improve medication management and patient care.
This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with the ability to align teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver complex hardware-software systems from concept through commercialization.
What You'll Own
Technical Leadership & Direction
Serve as the technical authority for Omnicell's Robotics & Automation portfolio
Define technical strategy, architecture, and engineering direction across multiple programs
Guide critical design decisions, resolve complex technical challenges, and drive execution excellence
Partner closely with Product Management to translate market needs into technical solutions
Product Development from Concept to Scale
Lead development of next-generation robotics and automation platforms
Drive innovation from early concept development through design, verification, launch, and deployment
- Balance new product innovation with ongoing product enhancements and reliability improvements • Ensure solutions deliver performance, scalability, quality, and customer value
Cross-Functional Leadership
Build alignment across engineering, product, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and service teams
Influence through technical credibility and sound judgment rather than organizational authority
Communicate complex technical concepts to both engineers and executive leaders
Lead effectively in a highly matrixed environment
What We're Looking For
A leader who brings:
Deep expertise developing complex robotics, automation, mechatronics, or electromechanical systems
Proven experience leading products from concept through commercialization and scale
Strong technical judgment with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs, identify risks, and guide architecture decisions
- Credibility earned through hands-on engineering experience • Success leading multidisciplinary teams in matrixed organizations
Relevant backgrounds may include:
Robotics
Industrial automation
Motion control systems
Advanced manufacturing equipment
Precision machinery
Complex hardware-software platforms
Mechatronics
