This is a full-time position in a food manufacturing environment with opportunities for advancement!

What You Will Do:

  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical instrumentation, ensuring accuracy and reliability across measuring, recording, and control systems.
  • Program, modify, and manage PLC systems (PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) using tools such as RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, and PanelView 32 to support and enhance plant automation.
  • Maintain and document industrial Ethernet networks, including IP mapping, switch configuration, and cable patching to ensure stable integration between IT and OT systems.
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues, including ladder logic editing, I/O module replacement, voltage troubleshooting, and frequency drive programming.
  • Develop and implement HMI applications, integrate new automation processes, upload/download PLC programs, and configure network protocols to optimize equipment performance and production efficiency.

What You Will Bring:

  • Associate degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant industrial controls experience.
  • Proficient in Ethernet networking, including IP addressing, switch wiring, and cable patching for industrial systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of PLC platforms including PLC5, SLC500, CompactLogix, and ControlLogix.
  • Skilled in control software and interfaces such as FactoryTalk View Studio, RSLogix500, Studio 5000, and PanelView 32.
  • Able to lift up to 90 lbs., obtain a forklift license, and comply with all OSHA, state, and company safety regulations.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED and Rockwell Program or related experience

Years of Related Experience: 3 or more years or relevant experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Must have high degree of mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Exhibit effective communication and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of co-workers, management, and executive staff workers

  • Ability to train team members at all levels

  • Proficient working with, programming, and troubleshooting PLC systems (Allen-Bradley and Siemens preferred).

  • Proficient with electrical wiring of equipment and system control panels. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and machine manuals.

  • Familiarity and working knowledge of NFPA70E and Arc Flash requirements. Experience with industrial robotics, robotics programming, and maintenance (FANUC and ABB preferred).

  • Proficient with electrical components sensors and safety devices (i.e., photo-eyes, proximity sensors, limit switches).

  • Proficient with industrial machine Ethernet networking. Detailed understanding of SCADA (Ignition), PLC Ladder Logic (Rockwell), Human Machine Interface (HMI), AutoCAD, WMS (SAP), WCS (Savanna.net), managing AGVs and their integration with plant systems.

  • Ability to comply with all general safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company, Local, State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

  • Experience with USDA regulations, GMPS, RAGAGEP, etc.

  • Strong ability to multitask and problem solve.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must be able to lift forty (40) lbs.

  • Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner

  • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and machine manuals

  • Proficiency in the use & troubleshooting with a multimeter and similar diagnostic tools

  • Ability to troubleshoot automated equipment and perform root cause analysis

  • Ability to use basic MS office programs, fill out PM’s and shift notes

  • Ability to review, troubleshoot, and isolate issues within PLC and HMI programs

  • Ability to research parts tools and equipment need to complete task

  • Ability to clearly communicate with team members to assist with troubleshooting

  • Creating, modifying and closing work orders utilizing CMMS systems (SAP)
