Job Summary

Oxford Forge is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our automated manufacturing systems. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of production equipment and optimizing control processes.

Job Responsibilities

* Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and actuators. * Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control system malfunctions. * Perform preventative maintenance on control equipment to minimize downtime and optimize performance. * Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings. * Develop and modify PLC programs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI applications. * Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to resolve complex technical issues. * Participate in the commissioning of new equipment and control systems. * Maintain accurate documentation of control system configurations, modifications, and repairs. * Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies. * Provide technical support and training to production personnel as needed.

Job Qualifications

* Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Controls Technician in a manufacturing environment. * Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell Allen-Bradley, Siemens S7) and HMI development. * Strong understanding of industrial control components, including VFDs, servos, sensors, and instrumentation. * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical documentation. * Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex control systems. * Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet). * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Willingness to work occasional off-shifts, weekends, or on-call as required.

Required Skills and Education

  • Manufacturing experience preferred; candidates with a strong interest in learning will also be considered.
  • Must be mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment.
  • Willingness to take job-related training or classes to build skills is required.
