About the Role:

Hey future engineer! Looking to gain hands-on experience inautomation and control systems while working with a team that actually values your input? Harpak-ULMA is looking for aControls Engineering Intern to dive into the world ofPLC programming, HMI design, and electrical systems. You wont be grabbing coffeeyoull be working onreal-world projects alongside experienced engineers.

Located at ourTaunton, MA facility, youll also get exposure to ourmanufacturing processes, shop, training center, and R&D projectsso theres never a dull moment.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Designing, developing, and testingcontrol systems for automation and manufacturing.

  • SupportingPLC programming and troubleshooting control logic.

  • Creating and modifyingHMI (Human-Machine Interface) screens for system operations.

  • Assisting inelectrical schematic design and wiring diagrams.

  • Performingsystem testing and validation to ensure everything runs smoothly and safely.

  • Troubleshootinghardware and software control issues.

  • Collaborating withservice technicians, project managers, and software developers to bring ideas to life.

  • Documentingtechnical procedures, test results, and system configurations.

  • Bringingyour ideas to team meetingswe love innovation!

Who You Are:

  • Currently pursuing aBachelors or Masters degree inElectrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • Have somebasic PLC programming knowledge (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar preferred).

  • Familiar withHMI development, SCADA systems, and industrial networks (bonus points!).

  • Comfortable working withelectrical circuits, wiring diagrams, and control panel design.

  • A problem-solver withstrong attention to detail.

  • A self-starter who can workindependently but also thrives in ateam setting.

  • A great communicator with solidwritten and verbal skills.

  • Proficient inMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Extra Skills Thatll Make You Stand Out:

  • Experience withCAD software for electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, etc.).

  • Some knowledge ofrobotic systems and motion control.

  • Hands-on experiencetroubleshooting automation systems.

  • Exposure toindustrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.).
