We currently have an opportunity for a motivated and talented Controls Commissioning Engineer to join our Engineering Group. This position plays a leading role in the deployment of electrical control systems. This includes testing and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC software. The position also provides opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations in order to fulfil the work requirements.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Conformance to OHS&E standards in the execution of all work
  • Testing and commissioning on customer sites
  • Preparation and completion of test documentation
  • Validation of safety systems
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and control panel layouts

What We Are Looking For

Key skills, qualifications and attributes include:

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering or scientific discipline
  • 3+ years proven experience programming, configurating and commissioning Siemens S7-1500 PLCs, Siemens variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices
  • Experience commissioning profinet networks
  • Experience using Siemens integrated safety
  • Ability to work in a project based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Passion for hands on setup and testing of PLC controlled machinery
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding during commissioning and handover phases
  • Experience with materials handling automation desired but not essential
  • Full time commissioning role located in the south western area of Melbourne for duration of employment contract.
