As a Control and Protection Commissioning Engineer you will be part of the HVDC unit. You will get involved in the later stages of system testing at Hitachi Energy premises and lead commissioning activities of Control and Protection and SCADA at customer sites. You will be part of the hand-over and trial operations of HVDC links, with a direct interface with customers and opportunities to travel globally.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Organize and execute testing and commissioning activities, including test equipment management.
  • Participate in technical discussions with clients and consultants.
  • Ensure full understanding of scope and division of work.
  • Communicate all changes to the Commissioning Manager.
  • Ensure customer commitments are met according to contract.
  • Support tender work related to commissioning scope.
  • Analyze disturbances during commissioning and operation.
  • Live Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in Control and Protection or SCADA from design or testing stages.
  • Experience in AC substations or HVDC technology.
  • Experience in commissioning work in plants of varying size and complexity.
  • Knowledge of MACH, IEC61850, HVDC projects or IED relay programming is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
