About this Job
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
What You Will Do with JT4
The Soft Decom Computer Scientist will program software and follow systems engineering tasks within a working group. You will identify potential risks, adhere to technical guidance, foster collaboration, properly comment out code & headers, and meet scheduled goals.
Job Duties & Essential Functions
- Strong Docker and Linux skills
- Understanding of network programming (TCP/IP, UDP, socket programming)
- Data de-commutation principles with an understanding of time synchronization, real-time systems, and data serialization formats
- Capable technical writing skills and verbal communication
- Familiarity with telemetry standards (IRIG 106, IRIG 218-10)
- Develop and testing the Soft Decom system
- Develop a high-resolution time stream with monotonic properties
- Implement a web interface for configuration and control
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline is required for this position.
In addition, a Computer Scientist I must possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of computer-based systems and applications
- Programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks
- Familiarity with systems engineering and software development lifecycles
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
The incumbent must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $122,408 to $130,000 annually.
Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.
