Job Description:
We’re looking for a skilled CNC Maintenance Technician to join our growing Maintenance team in Northampton. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and optimising our CNC machine tools and associated manufacturing equipment, implementing preventative maintenance schedules, and ensuring the facility runs efficiently and safely.
We have 2 available positions for this role, with the following shift patterns:
Day Shift
3 Shift Rotation - rotating earlies, lates and nights on a weekly basis (23.5% shift allowance).
The Role:
Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on CNC machine tools and associated manufacturing equipment.
Conduct systematic fault-finding and troubleshoot machinery.
Implement and carry out scheduled preventative maintenance (TPM programs).
Conduct risk assessments and develop Health & Safety procedures, including standard methods of work.
Identify and maintain critical spare parts requirements.
Ensure all activities consider environmental, energy, and safety impacts.
Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
Support the Company’s compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 by following company policy and best practice.
Candidate Profile:
Strong electrical/mechanical skills with proven experience on Fanuc 18i & 30/31i, Heidenhain iTNC 530 CNC machine tools.
Experience with carrying out systematic fault-finding on all plant machinery and ancillary equipment.
Implementing TPM and preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment.
Vocationally qualified (minimum NVQ Level 3, HNC or ONC) with relevant Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship.
Strong working knowledge of machine tools and line interfaces.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise.
Competent in Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.
Desirable:
ABB/Fanuc robot cells or FMS systems experience (training provided if needed).
17th Edition Regulations certified.
Experience in CNC field-based service engineering.
