About this Job
Royalty Staffing is helping our client hire hands-on Autonomous Vehicle Technician to support the build, maintenance, and operation of robotic platforms and modified vehicles. In this role, you will have a blend of mechanical, electrical, and field support work.
Ideal candidates have hands-on experience in automotive or robotics-related fields and are skilled in using diagnostic tools, reading technical diagrams, and working with electrical systems and components. You enjoy working on real-world systems in a fast-moving, technical environment.
Location - Austin, TX
Work environment - onsite
Expected pay amount - 22.00 - 30.00 USD Per Hour
Schedule - Monday - Friday, 9AM-6PM (Central Time)
Assignment length - 12 month contract
As an Automotive & Robotics Technician, you'll:
- Install and integrate sensors, compute modules, wiring harnesses, and other custom hardware.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on robotic systems and vehicle platforms.
- Perform preventative maintenance, retrofits, and hardware updates as needed.
- Support field deployments by providing on-site service, troubleshooting, and hardware swaps.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support testing and prototyping.
- Maintain tools, inventory, and clear documentation of repairs and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience in automotive service, automotive retrofit, robotics, or a similar technical field
- Proficient with mechanical and electrical tools, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Comfortable working with AC/DC systems, connectors, and electronic modules
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally as needed
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in field environments
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
- Team player with strong communication skills and adaptability
Nice to Have:
Experience with electric vehicles, autonomous systems, or sensor installation
Soldering, crimping, or basic prototyping skills
