About this Job

As a ROC technician in Massterly you will have a wide range of responsibilities. In the testing phase, and operation phace you will be responsible for the safe operation of the vessel. In addition, you will also be part of the testing and verification team providing feedback to Massterly on the behavior of the autonomous technology and being part of developing operational procedures for autonomous operations. In the testing phase you will rotate with you collogues between working on the vessel and working in the ROC. After the testing phase the work location will be moved permanently to the ROC where you will monitor and control the operation of the vessel remotely.

As a ROC technician you will work closely with Massterly to ensure the highest standard of safe vessel operation. This is an exciting role for somebody who enjoys working in a high-technology environment, who has an innovative mindset, and wants to contribute to zero emission, next generation shipping.

Responsibilities

  • System responsible onboard the autonomous vessel
  • Verification and monitoring of vessel autonomous systems during test phase and operation
  • Development of operational procedures and processes for autonomous operation
  • Identification, reporting and planning of required maintenance
  • Execution of planned and unplanned maintenance
  • Oversea a group of vessels from the ROC station
  • Part of a larger maintenance crew.

Requirements

  • Experience as Chief Engineer or 1st/2nd Engineer
  • Valid certification according to STCW 95 as amended
  • Permit to live and work in Norway
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English with excellent communication skills
  • Able to meet medical requirements for seafarers as described by the Norwegian Maritime Authority

Experience from new buildings or other projects will be beneficial. Location: Horten, Vestfold Telemark, travels must be expected. Re-location to Horten, Norway not offered.
