POSITION SUMMARY

The technician will work in the OT (Operations Technology) team to support, improve, and troubleshoot more than 50 automated sites. Whether it involves logical programming, networking, instrumentation, or process, the candidate must be versatile.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshooting PLC, SCADA, VFD, Instruments, Network and more
  • Programming PLC,SCADA, HMI ; Mostly Rockwell products
  • Support operations, sequence modifications, recipes, etc.
  • Support engineering during process modifications
  • Plan and guide contractors during system modifications (adding instruments, changing pumps, changing valves, replacing obsolete components)
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of networks and cybersecurity
  • Travel to facilities to assess equipment, modify system or calibrate
  • Be aware of new available product, participate in continuous improvement
  • Plan system migration and work on reducing shutdowns
  • Migrate system and update Firmware

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma
  • Professional school or College automation system diploma or similar
  • Bilingual (French-English)
  • Programming knowledge with; LADDER, FONCTION BLOCK, SFC
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to write clear documentation and instructions
  • Excellent knowledge in industrial process
  • Ability to read and understand P&ID
  • Available for business trip
  • SQL knowledge is an asset
  • Knowledge in wood industries process is an asset
