In this role, you will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance to support, troubleshoot, and advance automation initiatives across the organization. You will have the opportunity to contribute to automation projects, improve equipment and processes, and help strengthen efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.

The Impact You'll Make in This Role

As an Automation Technician, you will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise while collaborating with a cross-functional team to improve efficiency, quality, and production performance. In this role, you will:

  • Support the commissioning, qualification, and implementation of automation systems and projects.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve automation, robotics, and controls-related issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automation processes and procedures.
  • Manage and support site automation standards while ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Interface with equipment suppliers, integrators, and internal stakeholders on automation initiatives.
  • Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, robotics systems, and integrated manufacturing equipment.
  • Analyze existing processes and recommend automation improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to achieve organizational goals.
  • Build strong working relationships with leadership and production employees to support a high-quality customer experience.
  • Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and automation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Expertise

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • A self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for innovation, automation technologies, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Controls, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with PLC programming, robotics programming, automation systems, or systems integration.
  • Experience interfacing automation and robotic systems with manufacturing equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and improve automated systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are not required but may help you succeed in this role:

  • Experience in plastics manufacturing or injection molding environments.
  • Experience with GMP, ISO 9001, and/or ISO 13485 standards.
  • Experience with vision inspection systems.
  • Experience utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Fanuc, or similar automation platforms.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing automation projects from concept through implementation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work throughout a manufacturing facility for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and machinery while following all safety procedures.
