About this Job

We are looking for an Automation Technician with proven hands-on experience in CNC machining environments and a strong foundation in automation and robotic systems. This individual combines technical knowledge with general mechanical skills to support efficient, high-quality production operations.

This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship or relocation assistance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose technical issues with automation/electrical panels, robot controllers by reading electrical prints, skimming operating manuals, and using a multi-meter.
  • Take general direction and/or work with the Engineering Leadership to resolve issues with current equipment and start-up new equipment.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of new automation systems with direction through the Controls engineering group.
  • Assembly of robot guarding, mounting of switches and cable track wiring
  • Using hand power tools such as drills, drill taps, knockout kits for buttons, grinders and cut-off wheels
  • Process Improvement: Supports lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying areas for automation, enhancing workflow efficiency, and assisting engineers in implementing process changes.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Works closely with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams to troubleshoot both mechanical and automation issues, ensuring smooth and safe operations.

Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience with Fanuc.
  • Preferred experience with CNC Machining.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Proficient in general mechanical tasks, including assembly, repair, and adjustment of jigs, fixtures, and machine components. Capable of diagnosing mechanical issues affecting CNC equipment or automation systems.
  • Willing to learn new skills and troubleshooting practices when it applies to automation.
  • Quality & Safety Awareness: Understands the importance of maintaining precision standards, safety protocols, and machine calibration in high-volume CNC environments.
  • This position will spend a large majority of the time on the shop floor with machinery or within the automation cribs building or assembling so must be able to stand for extended amounts of time.
