NOW HIRING: We are looking for an Automation / Path Cell Robotics Technician to join our weekend shift Transportation & Infrastructure (Pole) team in Winsted, MN. An Automation / Path Cell Robotics Technician will execute and maintain automated robotic systems and is responsible for setting up, operating, loading and unloading various machines / equipment to manufacture metal products in accordance with product specifications. This is a production floor role

Job Title: Automation / Robotics Technician Location: Winsted, MN Salary Range:$28.05 33.00 per hour (Non-Exempt) *(In compliance with Minnesota Pay Transparency Law, this range reflects the anticipated compensation for this role. Actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.) *Shift Schedule: Weekend shift Friday Sunday 5am 5pm Shift Differential: Weekend shift $2.50/hour

As an Automation / Path Cell Robotics Technician, you will:

  • Provides technical support of the automated cell to ensure minimal downtime and optimal productivity
  • Identifies problems and issues in robotic systems, communicating with internal engineers, specialists, or other staff to diagnose and understand issues
  • Troubleshoots and repairs or corrects problems, which may include repairs and revisions to hardware (disassembly and reassembly of robots and peripheral equipment) and software (investigation of programming code for mistakes)
  • Installs, programs, reprograms, and repairs and maintains robots and equipment such as controllers, end-of-arm tooling, and conveyor
  • Uses tools, templates, and fixtures to align, fit, or assemble components
  • Uses tools such as electronic voltmeters to test the performance of robotic assemblies; documents procedures and test results
  • Evaluates the efficiency and reliability of industrial robotic systems; reprograms, calibrates, or makes recommendations for enhancements to achieve maximum quantity and quality
  • Performs preventive and curative maintenance on robotic systems and components
  • Maintains service records for automated production systems and robotic equipment
  • Assists engineers with design, configuration, and robotic systems applications
  • Sets up and safely operates equipment and reports any potential safety issues on work cells; ensures safety at all times

Role Qualifications as an Automation / Path Cell Robotics Technician:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Vocational or Associate degree in related field required, Bachelors degree preferred
    • Other combinations of formal training and experience will be considered
    • At least one year of related experience or apprenticeship required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Basic understanding of mechanical repair, computer programming, and electric circuit design
  • Basic understanding of programming code used to control devices
  • Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers and electronics schematics
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions
  • Ability to use forklift, hoist, crane and other handling equipment
  • Ability to operate various power and hand tools
  • Ability to use various measuring devices
  • Ability to work under limited supervision using standardized practices and / or methods
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to complete logs and reports
