About this Job
As a Technical Project Manager on a new product team, you will directly support the humanoid program management office as well as the Behavior SW and Controls managers to create achievable project plans and track progress against them. You will lead the identification of risks internal to the software teams’ plans, elevate and advertise these risks, and track progress towards their resolution. You will create high level status reports for communicating with both executives and the broader company-wide technical community.
What You’ll Do:
Work across multiple teams to build and track comprehensive projects plans that account for the complex interdependencies inherent in robotics,including managing scope, identifying risks, estimating workloads, defining schedule milestones, and tracking cross-functional efforts throughout the development process
Coordinate cross-functional teams, including research scientists, ML engineers, controls engineers, data operations teams and robot demonstrators and other stakeholders, to drive project execution
Partner with project managers and technical leaders in other parts of the business to ensure smooth, predictable execution
Communicate regularly on status, schedule, risks, and change control
Identify resource requirements and be accountable for executing on company goals and roadmap
Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams to plan and schedule software releases, including feature releases, patches, and updates
Define release milestones, schedules, and dependencies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations
We are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, or related field and 5+ years of experience developing software for robotics, ML infrastructure, controls or related fields
3+ years experience project managing projects with SW and hardware dependencies
Strong communication skills, including the ability to distill complex technical information into concise, easily understood formats while articulating competing priorities
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices
Experience integrating agile project management methodologies within waterfall frameworks
Nice to have:
Familiarity with ML workflows including training pipelines, experiment tracking and dataset management
Experience working in an R&D environment balancing research needs with deadlines
Familiarity with behavior cloning, VLA/VLM architectures
The base pay range for this position is between $154,000 to $175,000 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and an annual bonus structure.
