Position Summary:

We are seeking anApplication Engineerwith a strong background in instrumentation and controls, along with a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems specific to gas turbine packages and their associated instrumentation and controls systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities of role)

  • Interpret drawings for modifications and upgradation of aero derivative engines.
  • Review customer technical specifications and prepare clarifications that provide an acceptable technical solution for both the customer and Siemens Energy.
  • Define overall scope of the upgrade including aero derivative engine SGT A20, SGT A35 and SGT A65 (Trent) package material for various mechanical, electrical control systems.
  • Presenting of the requirements to internal stakeholder as part of the technical review process.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated and reducing lead time to quote by utilizing the standard AE concepts.
  • Confirm the cost of scope and associated material by liaising with vendors.
  • Conduct unit health assessments for various aero derivative units and packages at different sites.
  • Manage projects for various improvements, such as Standard Solutions and Customer Asset Management (CAM).
  • Support operations delivery commitment based on the bid strategy.
  • Ensure integration of package auxiliary systems with driver and driven equipment.
  • Supply project team with final committed Supplier Document Register List (SDRL) Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
  • Produce bid phase drawings and satisfy contract delivery timelines.
  • Attend and support Limits of Authority (LoA) and Technical Review meetings as required.
  • Provide technical support to internal customers and liaise with external parties.

What You Bring (required qualification and skill sets)

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical / Electrical / Instrumentation controls with experience of at least 6-7 years in the oil and gas industry and/or power generation industry.
  • Knowledge of various systems like Lube oil system, Air system, Instrumentation system, control system and hydraulic system.
  • Knowledge of various instruments- pressure gauge, level gauge, temperature sensors, flowmeter.
  • Experience in Gas Turbine products, Aero engine products would be preferrable.
  • Experience in product sales support or servicing industries.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens control systems, Siemens AGT products and packages would be preferrable.
  • Positive Mindset and proactive nature would be highly appreciated.
  • Detail-oriented skills to ensure all parts of a solution come together and work as intended
  • Basic understanding ofControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet, and Modbusprotocols.
  • Proficiency with tools such asMicrosoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Salesforce, PLM2020, and OnePM.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability tocollaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams(mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) and communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Digitalization and automation orientation would be added advantage.
  • Effective communication and proposal writing skills.
