About the Role

We are looking for a Shift Engineer with strong expertise in PLC-based automation, electrical systems, and shop-floor digitalization. The role will focus on ensuring high machine uptime, minimizing downtime, and enabling smart manufacturing initiatives through automation and data-driven maintenance practices.


Key Responsibilities

Automation & Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based systems (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi)

  • Modify PLC logic, ladder programs, and HMI/SCADA systems

  • Handle field instrumentation, sensors, and system integration

  • Maintain PLC backups and technical documentation

Maintenance Excellence

  • Attend and resolve electrical and automation breakdowns

  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

  • Drive improvements in MTBF and MTTR

  • Support TPM activities and preventive maintenance

Digital Transformation

  • Lead shop-floor digitalization (paperless systems, e-logbooks, digital work instructions)

  • Integrate machines, PLCs, and IoT systems for real-time data capture

  • Support Industry 4.0 and smart factory initiatives

  • Develop dashboards and KPI tracking (OEE, productivity, quality)

Performance & Reporting

  • Analyze breakdowns and identify improvement opportunities

  • Prepare reports on downtime, performance, and maintenance activities

  • Ensure accurate data logging and traceability

Compliance & Support

  • Support audits (internal and external)

  • Coordinate with suppliers for calibration and spares management

  • Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and cybersecurity standards


What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in PLC programming and automation systems

  • Hands-on exposure to machine maintenance and breakdown analysis

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance and TPM practices

  • Ability to analyze data and drive continuous improvement

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and ownership mindset

  • Leadership qualities with ability to guide shop-floor teams


Qualifications

  • Diploma / Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

Additional Requirements

  • Ready to relocate within 20 km of the plant

  • Willing to work in shifts and holidays (6-day working, staggered weekly off)

  • Good computer skills (MS Office, MSCIT-level proficiency)

  • Languages: English, Hindi, Marathi
