About this Job
The Actuator Technician assembles Actuators according to blueprint and work order instructions. This position reports directly to the PDS Operations Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and adjusts product performance using precision measuring equipment such as counters, meters, oscilloscopes, manual and fully automated flowmeter test stands.
- Controls rework and repair of customer returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Performs manufacturing operations as required such as an assembly, disassembly, reworking, repairing, troubleshooting, calibrating, masking, painting, soldering, oven cycling, mixing, inspecting, testing, and basic machining operations.
- Executes written and verbal instructions in the form of routings, manufacturing instructions, manufacturing and quality control notices, characteristic cards, quality control procedures, maintenance manuals, sketches and drawings to successfully complete required operations according to established standards.
- Sets up and operates a variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Inspects and tests using mechanical and electronic measuring equipment.
- Maintains required record keeping in accordance with policies, specifications, and requirements.
- Cross-trains other employees as required.
- Moves assemblies according to established process flows, and inputs shop floor control data.
- Performs all duties of lower rated assembler classification as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) Years prior experience in Production and/or Manufacturing.
- Demonstrated capability to properly use calipers, micrometers, drop gages, scales, rulers, go/no-go gauges, soldering
- Demonstrated capability to properly use electrical test equipment: multi-meters, gauss meters, hipot/IR test equipment, case ground bonding
- Capability to perform in-process and final inspections
- Proven capability to assemble or fabricate product using verbal instructions only
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand requirements specified on engineering drawings, sketches, manufacturing instructions, characteristic cards, routings, pick-lists, packing specifications, customer instructions and other means to communicate operational requirements
- Basic computer operation skills (Clocking of job transactions, user interfaces for automated test equipment)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems
