Job Summary

The Abatement system test technician plays a critical role in the final stages of the production cycle at Pfeiffer Vacuum. This position is responsible for the functional validation and rigorous testing of waste gas abatement systems to ensure they meet stringent customer specifications and German quality standards. You will bridge the gap between assembly and delivery by diagnosing technical issues, calibrating sensitive components, and ensuring environmental compliance before the product reaches the global market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Functional testing: Perform comprehensive functional tests on waste gas abatement systems in the dedicated testing area. Tests are conducted strictly according to customer specifications, including circuit diagrams, gas flow diagrams, technical drawings, and specialized software.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve malfunctions in both electrical and mechanical components during the testing phase.
  • Component calibration: Adjust and calibrate system components (sensors, vacuum valves, regulators) to ensure they operate within specified tolerances.
  • Final system validation: Execute the final testing protocols for complete systems to verify overall performance and reliability.
  • Documentation & logging: Maintain accurate records of test results, system logs, and technical documentation. Document missing parts, errors, and maintain a detailed error recording log for quality improvement.
  • Environmental measurement: Conduct exhaust gas measurements according to technical specifications to ensure the abatement system meets performance targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering, Energy facility electrician, Automation engineer or a related technical field
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and handling
  • Knowledge of reading circuit diagrams and technical drawings
  • Craftsmanship and technical understanding
  • Safe handling of computer equipment
  • Independent, reliable way of working and willing performance
  • Good command of both spoken and written English
  • Goal-oriented, flexible, motivated, team-oriented
